OUR IMPACT IN 2025 … AS TOLD BY Kings Active Foundation CEO Andrew Busby
As CEO of Kings Active Foundation, I’m delighted to share our 2025 Impact Report. It reflects our clear vision: a world where children love being active and, through that activity, grow into happier and healthier children, young people and adults.
While this report highlights our work in 2025, it is rooted in a legacy that began in 1991 at The King’s Centre Church in Sheffield, where a small group of friends believed in the power of play to improve the lives of children and families. This foundational belief continues to drive our work today.

Despite the challenges facing the charity and childcare sector in 2025, including rising employment costs, we have remained resilient and true to our commitments. Our nationwide Kings Camps programme plays a vital role in sustaining our work, allowing us to reinvest income back into communities and support thousands of families each year.
Visiting our camps and seeing the positive impact on children’s confidence, wellbeing and friendships continually reinforces to me why this work truly matters.
Our impact report details the positive impact Kings Active Foundation has made in the lives of thousands of children throughout 2025 who participated in our sports and activity camps, Kings Camps or experienced Active Play, our free in-school activity sessions. Below is a an exert from our full impact report, showing the impact of Kings Camps on children and their families.

At Kings we believe that children who develop a love of sport and activity have a greater opportunity to lead a happier and healthier life in child and adulthood and as such, all of our work is directed towards helping children develop a love of being active. For this report, we collected data from children and families accessing our school holiday activity camps. Overall, children and families reported higher activity levels and lower screentime. This led to improved mood, greater levels of self confidence and social connection both with individuals and their wider community. Parents also reported improved sleep, emotional resilience, routine and energy.
We don’t see the impact report as just a report. It shows us that we are achieving our mission of getting children active and having fun, and making sport and activity accessible to as many children as possible.
