Making children smile with year round holiday camps!
‘Leisure at The Leys School’ offers a great range of facilities for our school holiday camps, including a good sized sports hall, swimming pool, activity rooms and a outdoor area (Ofsted No. EY431338).
Sports in stunning surroundings
Founded in 1875 and situated on a leafy and spacious fifty acre site, The Leys is the only independent, co-educational boarding and day school in Cambridge. Set in the centre of the beautiful and stimulating city of Cambridge, one of the world’s leading cultural and academic cities.
During the Twentieth Century, The Leys grew significantly and by 1930 the number of pupils had reached 271. Today the majority of the pupils are boarders and since the admission of girls to the Sixth Form in the 1980s, the school has become fully co-educational. It now accepts pupils from the age of eleven, rather than the age of thirteen as it was before. Due to its location, the school is popular with Cambridge academics as a place to send their children, as well as a place to teach. Notably, Stephen Hawking sent his son to the school and has given a number of talks to its pupils since then.
Superb outdoor courts and indoor facilities
The Leys Sports Complex has a range of superb facilities, these facilities include a large sports hall for badminton, 5-a-side football, volleyball and other activities, fitness suite, indoor cricket nets, 3 squash courts, 25m indoor swimming pool, outdoor tennis/netball courts, indoor climbing wall and outdoor grassed area for multiple sports.
