What’s the youngest age you take children from?

We are happy to accept children from the age of 4 years, however certain restrictions may apply. In England, in line with Ofsted regulations, children from the age of 4 can only attend for a maximum of 4 hours, our Taster Week is perfect for these younger children.

In Scotland and Wales, children aged 4 in full-time, compulsory education are able to attend a full day with us – otherwise they can only attend for a maximum of 4 hours. From the age of 5, children can attend for the full day.

Can my child choose the sports and activities they want to do on camp?

Our programmes are flexible so you can build your own tailored package to suit your child. The timetables are designed by our Red Tops in advance of camp, based upon the facilities at the venue, however the staff will always look at the suitability of a session to the group of children. There are ‘Kids choice’ sessions throughout the week, where the children in their groups get to pick an activity.

Can I book individual days, instead of a full week?

If you’re looking for individuals days you can book our FlexiCare package – simply choose the days you require, and your child can still enjoy the varied Multi-Active programme. You’ll also benefit from our extended hours, from 8.15 am – 5.45 pm (check your venue for any variations).

Do you provide lunch and snacks?

Parents are required to provide their children with packed lunches and snacks whilst on camp, including plenty of drinks for throughout the day. Drinking water is available at all camps so water bottles can be replenished.

What time can I drop off/collect my child?

We always advise you arrive 15 minutes prior to camp start – Check your booking confirmation for details of your start times.

How do I validate my booking ticket?

If you have booked online you will receive an email two weeks prior to camp to ask you to validate your booking. This is done via our website, by logging into your account and updating and confirming your child’s details. Once you have done this, your electronic booking ticket is generated for you to download and take with you to camp, saving time when you drop off.

We have created further instructions on how to book online and validate your ticket.

Do you accept childcare vouchers?

We accept all childcare vouchers in England – Click here for more information

My child has a medical condition – are they still able to attend camp?

It is a parent’s responsibility to inform us of any medical conditions prior to the start of camp, and details must be provided on your booking ticket. All medical information is confidential and attention will not be drawn to the condition. Where necessary, details will be passed to the group coach for safety purposes.

If your child requires additional support on camp then please call us to discuss the options.

Do you accept children from overseas?

We welcome children from outside of the UK,  but we do request that they have a basic understanding of English to ensure their safety and that of others, and of course their enjoyment.

Do children enjoy activities outdoors, as well as indoors?

Where we have access to outdoor facilities we will get the children outside as much as possible (weather permitting!), so please bring shoes for both indoor and outdoor activities and appropriate clothes for the weather.

Is swimming available at my venue?

Swimming is available at most of our camps on the full week Multi-Active programme (min 3 swim sessions per week) – please visit your venue page or call our Membership Team to check if swimming is available at your venue. We would recommend bringing your swimming kit each day in case of a change to the timetable.

What are theme days?

To ensure your kids have fun and look forward to every single minute at Kings Camps, we hold different theme days throughout the week at all of our camps;

  • Wednesday: Wet Wednesday – outdoor water games (including venues without a pool). Remember to bring a (dry) change of clothes!
  • Friday: The Kings Games– come along and enjoy an exciting end to the week. You’ll find more details on posters at camp.

My child won’t know anyone, can they be grouped with friends?

Most children who come onto camp, come alone and then make new friends throughout the week, but if your child has friends on camp then it is possible to be put in the same group, just let the site manager know at the beginning of the day.

Can I make changes to my booking?

Changes can be made to your booking upto 24 hours before your childs place on camp starts. It possible to change the days or programme your child is on, we do NOT charge an administration fee, simply call us to make a change to your booking. For cancellation of bookings please consult our Terms & Conditions.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. If you book more than 2 months in advance we can set up a monthly payment plan for you – There is a small charge for doing this.

Am I able to contact my child whilst they’re at camp?

If you need to contact your child during camp, call us on 0114 263 2160 and we will contact the camp manager on your behalf. We don’t recommend that mobile phones are brought onto camp.

My child is booked into camp, but is sick – what should I do?

Parents/carers are responsible for determining their child’s ability to actively participate in the daily activities. If your child is ill and booked into camp and you are unsure whether to send your child to camp, please notify the Memberships Team on 0114 263 2160 to discuss your child’s condition.

While we sympathise with the needs of each parent and their child, we must provide a healthy environment for everyone at the camp. A sick child often needs one-on-one attention and it is difficult for our coaches to take the necessary time away from activities. We have instituted this policy based on the wishes and opinions of our parents, to avoid any confusion over the health and well being of your children.

My child has left belongings at camp – how can I claim lost property?

Lost property will be left at the venue for ease of collection.

Ensure that clothes and belongings are clearly labelled with your child’s full name. Due to the nature of our activities, we recommend that children do not wear their best or most expensive clothing for camp.

Are all camp staff qualified?

All of our Red Tops must:

  • Be interviewed
  • Provide professional and personal references
  • Be registered/cleared with the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) with an ENHANCED CHECK.
